Education of Gucci Maneĭavis’ mother was a teacher, so she spent most of her time teaching him to read and write. This was the beginning of his career as a drug dealer. He even used his Christmas money to buy crack cocaine when he was in eighth grade. Gucci was raised in a drug-infested environment, and he and his brother were involved in drug dealing from a young age. Gucci grew up in a low-income, high-crime area. Mane’s father also served in the military and was stationed in Korea for two years. Similarly, his maternal grandfather, Walter Lee Davis, served in the Pacific during World War II on the USS South Dakota. He also served as a chef during World War II. His paternal grandfather, James Dudley, Sr., served in the military for twelve years. Gucci took his mother’s last name because his father was not present to sign the birth certificate. He was on the run for dealing crack cocaine and heroin.
